    My Weight Gain Story

At the age of 16, I was 5'10 tall, and 125 pounds. I peaked at this point for the next few years even though I was weight training at the time. Like millions of other people, I joined a gym did what they told me to do, and guess what? Nothing. After going to the gym for 12 months and only gaining 3 pounds I noticed something that changed the way I looked at my own body and the bodybuilding program I was on: Nobody else was making gains either, which made me think we're all doing something wrong and it probably had to do with the training program we were on. At this point, I made figuring out how to gain weight my life.
I spent countless hours everyday reading university sports reports, the latest fitness books, talking to big guys in the gym, and hanging around web forums to get my questions answered. Wow, I've never heard so many contradictory claims in my life. Some weight gain programs promised gains with only 25 minutes of workout time per week, others claimed 3 days or 4 days. Some programs tried to convince me that calories didn't count and I could keep eating the way I was, while others would have me on a high carb force feeding diet. Some programs said to do one set to exhaustion, others claimed 20 sets was the best way to go. Some programs said supplements were a scam, others said supplements were gods gifts to hardgainers. Some people told me "if your not born with it... your never going to have it". Confusion doesn't even begin to explain how I felt.
